Vallejo Dog Bite Victim Goes Home

A Vallejo girl who was attacked by a pit bull has left the hospital and the owner of the dog intends to euthanbize the dog, according to a report on KRON.

Dog bites in California create strict liability for dog owners. That means that if your dog bites someone, you are liable. The only requirement is that you are either on public property, or lawfully on private property (i.e., not trespassing) at the time the dog bites you. This law is found in Civil Code Section 3342, California's "dog bite statute."
