Law Student Hits and Injures Pedestrian

A 26 year old law student from Hastings College of the Law has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon after she tried to run down a group of taggers in Oakland who had been hassling her. She apparently struck an innocent passerby, causing "major head injuries" to James Roda.

The student has been identified as Meghan Zato. It appears that she was drunk at the time of the incident. Friends of Mr. Roda have started raising money to pay for his medical care.

Pete Clancy is an Oakland personal injury attorney.
