Oakland Toddler Struck by Car and Killed

An Oakland toddler was killed outside of her home last night when a relative backed over her in the driveway. The girl was rushed to Children's Hospital Oakland, where she was pronounced dead. Her family has agreed to donate her organs. The
accident happened on the
1100 block of 78th Avenue.
This is probably about as sad a story as you can think of - a life just started that is ended so young. Then there is the guilt the driver will carry around forever, and the hard feelings that are sure to surface.
As with all people injured in car accidents, our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of this girl.
