Driver Who Killed Pedestrian Suffered Seizure At Time Of Accident

A driver who lost control of his vehicle and caused a car-versus-bike auto accident apparently had a seizure at the time, which caused him to lose control of his vehicle and speed into a man waiting on his bike for a green light.

The pedestrian who was killed by the car was Joshua West, aged 28.  He is survived by a daughter who was 7 years old at the time.

The driver had a history of seizures and has agreed to a plea deal that will likely not see him serve time in prison.  The daughter of Mr. West may pursue a wrongful death claim based upon the driver's negligence in driving when he knew that he had a history of seizures.

The accident happened in Los Gatos in February of 2010.
