22 Californians Killed During Holiday Travel

According to the CHP, 22 Californians were killed in auto accidents during the 2009, and more than half of them were not wearing their seat belts at the time. (During that same time, the CHP made 1,104 arrests for drunk driving, including car accidents caused by drunk drivers.) If an adult fails to ensure that minor children traveling with them are wearing their required safety equipment, including seat belts, the parents of the minor child could pursue a wrongful death claim against the adult who failed to ensure that the child was adequately secured and then got into a car accident.
