Oakland Pedestrian Accidents Continue
October 14, 2010 -
A pedestrian was nearly killed last month in a hit-and-run accident on the 2100 block of International Boulevard in Oakland.
I have written before (here and here and here) about the dangers of being a pedestrian in Oakland and surrounding cities, and this just amplifies my point. The poor person crossing the street was likely hit by a speeding car, and then left there alone, to die. I really can't imagine a more depressing fate.
Remember: When crossing the street, always be careful - especially if you are in a dangerous intersection. If your kids are with you, be extra careful - don't assume the driver sees you. Too often drivers are distracted, speeding or both.
