Woman Killed in Oakland Car Crash
An early morning car crash left a passenger dead and the driver hospitalized and under arrest for vehicular manslaughter. According to KTVU.com, the truck in which the deceased and the driver were traveling crossed into opposite lanes of traffic and struck a parked truck. The accident happened at the intersection of 55th and Market in Oakland, at around 5:45 this morning. As of right now the decedent has not been identified. The driver was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and drunk driving.
If the driver has insurance, or other assets (unlikely) the family of the decedent may have a wrongful death claim to pursue against the driver.
