Fatal Car Crash On Oakland’s 580 – May 3, 2010

A 28-year-old Pinole resident identified as Rajamu Perkins was killed in what is described as a single car accident on Highway 580 in Oakland, near Lakeshore Avenue.

According to California Highway Patrol officer Ralph Caggiano, the car hit the guardrail before coming to a stop.  Mr. Perkins was transported to Highland Hospital where he was pronounced dead. For more information, see this SFGate article.

Last year 15 drivers were killed in Oakland car accidents.  There are no publicly available statistics for 2010.
