San Francisco – Cab Runs Red Light – April 19, 2010

April 19, 2010:

A taxi cab ran a red light at the intersection of Powell & Pine streets in San Francisco today, according to SFGate.  The accident caused a chain reaction that sent five people to the hospital. Two of the people were pedestrians injured when they were hit.

The lights at that intersection are timed so that anyone running a red light is almost guaranteed to hit car going on the other street. This is not one of the most dangerous intersections in the City, and travel along either street is usually pretty safe.

Intersection accidents typically turn into the two drivers arguing about who had the green light and can be very messy.  In this case, given the number of parties involved, it should be pretty easy to determine liability.
